HPL Benchmarking and Analysis of a Real High Performance PC Cluster

HPL is the parallel version of Linpack Benchmark,and also the standard testing program for high performance pa-(rallel) computer systems.It plays an important role in fairly,completely and systematically evaluating a machine's floating-point performance.We perform HPL test for a PC cluster with 8 nodes.We analyze the obtained data and reach the conclusion that the performance of the cluster can scale near linearly with the number of cluster nodes.We also derive the relations among processor grid dimension,problem size and HPL performance.
