Software defects management is built on the base of classification of software defects.This paper explains the harm of software defects,expatiates the necessity of classifying software defects,reviews some classification of software defects home and abroad,analyses the merit and flaw of each classification,brings forward a means of classification which would benefit elevation of software and improvement of software process,finally indicates the basic functional requirements of management system of defects and the significance of classification of software defects.
