EFFECT OF ZIRCONIUM CONTENT ON PRECIPITATION OF SILICIDE IN TI-1100 ALLOY
|
Abstract:
Morphology and distribution of silicide in Ti-1100 alloy with different zirconium content were observed by TEM. Isopleth at 0.76% (atomic fraction) Si in the Ti-Zr-Si system for pseudo Ti-1100 alloy was deduced according to the TEM results, isothermal sections of Ti-Zr-Si system phase diagram and concerned references. Both the TEM observation and the isopleths show that the silicide solvus increases and solubility of silicon in titanium declines as Zr content increased. These changes resulted in silicide coarsening, silicide volume fraction increasing and precipitation position changing.
