NEUTRON DIFFRACTION STUDY OF Nd_2(Fe_(0.9)Si_(0.1))_(14)B
|
Abstract:
The neutron diffraction of Nd_2(Fe_(0.9)Si_(0.1))_(14)B has been measured at room temper-ature and 77 K. Their data were fitted by profile analysis method. From the data at room tem-perature it can be got that Si occupied preferentially the sites 4c, 8j_1 and 16k_2; the magneticmoments, both Nd and Fe, are parallel to C axis. From the neutron data at 77 K it can beshown that Si still occupied the same sites as the sample at room temperature, but the data fitwith Nd moments deviating C axis and Fe moments parallel to c axis is better than all mo-ments parallel to C axis. It seems to prove that the Nd spin reorientation takes place at 77 K.
