ANALYSIS ON KINETICS OF CARBIDE DIFFUSION COATING

Abstract:
A kinetic model for carbide diffusion coating has been proposed based on the theory of steady diffusion and solid solution sublattice model. It is supposed that the growth velosity of carbide layer is controlled by the volume diffusion coef- ficient of carbon atoms in carbide layer and the activity of carbon in steel matrix. The calculated results for V_4C_3 coating treatment of commercial steels T10, 45, Cr12 MoV, 4Cr5MoVSi are in agreement with the experimental data
