YIELD STRENGTH OF METALS AND ALLOYS

A review covering the present state of yield strength of metals and alloys is presented. Emphasis is placed on slip and dislocation, multiplication of dislocations, plastic flow rate equation, Peierls stress, temperature dependence of the yield stress and effect of solute atoms.
