EFFECT OF HYDROGEN ON DEBYE TEMPERATURE AND LATTICE PARAMETER OF TITANIUM ALLOY
|
Abstract:
The variations of Debye temperature and lattice parameter of a Ti-30 Mo alloy with different hydrogen contents have been measured by means of X-ray diffraction. It was found that as the hydrogen content increases, the Debye tempe- rature decreases, but the lattice parameter of the alloy is increased. The above res- ults support experimentally the decohesion theory that hydrogen in metals will weaken the cohesive force between the atoms and make metals brittle.
