Applied research on economical DO in operation of oxidation ditch
|
Abstract:
In order to reduce energy consumption in aeration systems,a concept named economical dissolved oxygen(DO) is proposed by analyzing the relationship between dissolved oxygen rate and specific oxygen uptake rate(SOUR) of activated sludge processes in aeration systems, and the possibility of its existence is verified through theoretical and practical analysis. The existence of economical DO is confirmed via our experiment and the performance of reactor under the economical DO is demonstrated. The results show that under the economical DO,the effluent water is up to the standards, the reactor has stable performance, and the the average DO is 0.7 mg/L lower than practical DO concentration, which notably reduce energy consumption.
