Suitability evaluation on Tantang landfill based on analytic hierarchy process

Abstract:
Evaluation on the suitability of landfill site is the precondition and basis of landfill construction and operation.Taking Tantang Landfill of Yongzhou in Hunan as an example,based on the analysis for geological and hydrogeological conditions of the study area,this paper determines that five factors influencing the suitability of landfill are the dimensions of landfill,the transport,environmental,field and geological conditions,which consist of the area and capacity of landfill,the comprehensive road conditions,the pollution possibility for surface water,the topography flat extent and site area in karst,etc.Through a lot of analysis and integration,this paper points that the development of karst in partial areas is the principal influencing factor for the suitability.Meanwhile,according to the construction of landfill and related specifications,the suitability of Tantang Landfill is evaluated by using analytic hierarchy process.This results prove that Tantang Landfill is a suitable site.The evaluation results correspond with the actual conditions.
