Hydraulic characteristics of hydrodynamic cavitation reactor with orifice plate

Abstract:
The hydrodynamic cavitation reactor of orifice plate with different layout was designed, and hydraulic characteristics were studied by measuring the cavitation number and ·OH generation, which established basis of the design of high performance hydrodynamic cavitation reactor with orifice plate. The experimental results indicated that cavitation number increased with the increase of orifice diameter, the decrease of inlet pressure and the increase of solution temperature. The ·OH generation increased with the decrease of orifice diameter and the increase of run-time, while with the increase of inlet pressure and solution temperature, the ·OH generation first increased and then decreased. The results showed that the effect of hydrodynamic cavitation reactor with orifice plate was related with orifice plate structure and operation conditions.
