Adsorption and purification of multiple metal ions in industrial wastewater

Abstract:
A lightweight porous material of Si-Al-Ca-C structure was made from several mineral materials containing element of Si, Al, Ca, C. The adsorption capacity of the matrix material to the metals in industrial wastewater was researched. The factors influencing adsorption process were discussed. The results indicated that the adsorption rates of Al3+, Ca2+, Mn2+, Cu2+, Fe3+, Mg2+, As3+, Zn2+are 99.34%, 99.82%, 98.26%, 98.16%, 97.76%, 97.01%, 100% and 89.09%, respectively under the optimal conditions. The residual concentration of metal elements are 0.152, 0.07, 0.012, 0.02, 0.119, 0.311, 0 and 0.259 mg/L, respectively which are lower than the first standard of integrated wastewater discharge standard.
