Swine wastewater treatment with improved wavy-subsurface-flow-constructed-wetland
|
Abstract:
An improved wavy subsurface flow constructed wetland(IW-SFCW) was proposed. The effect of this wetland system on the treatment of swine wastewater in five hydraulic retention time(HRT) was studied. The results showed that: COD, TP, TN and NH4+-N of swine wastewater can be removed well with this system. In the HRT 4 d, influent COD, TN, NH4 +-N, TP concentrations were 511 mg/L, 120 mg/L, 110 mg/L, 10 mg/L or so, the removal efficiencies of COD, NH4+-N, TN and TP were 86.0%, 54.4%, 70.1% and 91.6%, respectively. Besides, the removal efficiency of COD and TP improved gradually with the HRT extension. In the best adapt HRT 8 d,the removal efficiencies of COD and TP reached 92.7% and 96.8%, respectively. But the removal efficiency of TN and NH4+-N increased firstly and then decreased with the HRT extension. In the best adapt HRT 4 d, the removal efficiencies of TN and NH4+-N in the wetland system were 54.4% and 70.1%, respectively.
