Influencing characteristics and kinetic model of humic acid degradation by Fenton's reagents
|
Abstract:
The influencing characteristics of Fenton’s reagent on the degradation of humic acid(HA) wastewater were studied. The dynamics model was established based on the theoretical analysis of reaction process. The parameters of dynamics model were estimated according to the experimental data. The results showed that HA was removed both by oxidation and coagulation.Under operating conditions of initial pH 4,Fe2+ dosage of 40 mmol/L and H2O2 dosage of 160 mmol/L,reaction time of 60 min,78.6% and 11.5% removals for oxidation and coagulation were achieved, respectively, meanwhile the highest initial oxidation rate of 59.6 mg/(L·min) was achieved. The prediction of models was found to agree well with experimental results and confirm the proposed reaction mechanisms, which indicated that the oxidation degradation mechanism of HA accorded with the theory and practice of hydroxyl radicals.
