Photocatalytic catalytic oxidation of ammonia in aqueous solutions by Cu/La-codoped TiO2
|
Abstract:
The Cu/La-codoped TiO2 nanoparticles were prepared by hydrolysis-precipitation method. The nano-TiO2 was characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS), and the BET surface areas. The photocatalytic degradation of ammonia in aqueous solutions by doped TiO2 powders under UV irradiation was studied. Results of structural characterization indicate that the catalyst has the better anatase phase, the pore size rang is 4~8 nm and the incorporation of La as La3+ and Cu as Cu2+,Cu+ exist in Cu/La-codoped TiO2 nanoparticles. Experimental results show that the treatment of ammonia and coking wastewater exhibit high photocatalytic activity by modified TiO2 catalyst.
