Effect of COD on enhanced biological phosphorus removal system and variation of OUR
|
Abstract:
In order to investigate the effect of COD on enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) system and variation of OUR, a SBR process was used for treating real domestic wastewater. The process run as anaerobic/aerobic style. The experiment was carried out in four stages with different added COD (0,50,100 and 300 mg/L) at the end of anaerobic phase. In each stage, COD was still on degradation during the first 30 min of aerobic phase and phosphorus uptake rate of each stage was 124.72, 73.36, 43.60 and 24.8 mg/(g MLSS·h),respectively. When the added COD was higher than 100 mg/L, phosphorus uptake rate increased obviously after all the COD was removed; and the time when phosphorus was all absorbed of each stage was extended. OUR could be used as a control parameter of phosphorus uptake in all the stages.
