Efficiency and mechanism of reed wetlands to organic pollutants removal from papermaking wastewater
|
Abstract:
In order to study the organic pollutants removal efficiency and degradation mechanism of the reed wetlands for papermaking wastewater treatment, the GC-MS analysis was applied to measure the formation and content of the organic pollutants before and after the treatment. The chromatography superposition was applied so that the degradation efficiency was analyzed. The results showed that:(1)30 kinds of organic matters were found before the treatment and 8 of them were included in the blacklist of environmental priority pollutants recognized by EPA in USA.(2)The organic pollutants in papermaking wastewater were reduced more than 80% by reed wetland treatment, and most of the degradation products were harmless alkane. The toxic organic pollutants were removed preferably by the papermaking wastewater pond and reed wetlands complex processing system.(3) The organic pollutants degradation mechanisms were preliminarily studied by the means of mass. These results provided the scientific basis for utilization of papermaking wastewater resources and established the foundation for the popularization and application of ecological papermaking cyclic economy mode with "papermaking wastewater to reed to papermaking".
