Preparation of a supported Fe/Ce/zeolite Fenton-like catalyst and its performances

Abstract:
A supported Fe/Ce/zeolite Fenton-like catalyst was prepared by citrate sol-gel method and characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), then the catalyst was used as a heterogeneous Fenton catalyst for degradation of simulated malachite green solution. The results show that better dispersion of catalyst crystal can be achieved by adding Ce, and the content of chemisorbed oxygen can also increase on the surface of catalyst, so the catalyst activity can be enhanced. Under the following experimental conditions: catalysts dosage of 3.0 g/L,initial H2O2 dosage of 67 mg/L, pH of 8.0,for 150 mg/L malachite green solution, 97.3% of decolorization efficiency could be achieved in 30 min.
