Comparison of different determination methods for dimethylacetamide in water samples

The measurement methods of dimethylacetamide(DMAC) in water mainly include ultraviolet spectrophotometry,dual-wavelength spectrophotometry,high performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography.In this paper,the first three determination methods for DMAC in water were described and compared.It was found that the ultraviolet spectrophotometry methods was characteristics of simple operation and extensive application;dual-wavelength spectrophotometry could remove the interference of nitrate to DMAC and high performance liquid chromatography could detect the DMAC from complex water samples,but its disadvantage was expensive equipment cost.In a word,these three methods had their different characteristics,and which kind of method was selected according to the specific water quality and test conditions.
