Start-up of IC reactor for treatment of high-strength sulfate wastewater
|
Abstract:
Start-up of internal circulation(IC) reactor for treatment of high-strength sulfate wastewater was investigated fed with xylose wastewater. Results showed that the IC reactor could be started up successfully inoculated with anaerobic granular sludge, when the influent COD/SO2-4 ratio was 3.5, as well as the COD loading increased about 20% every time. After 26 days acclimation, the COD and SO2-4 load could be up to 20 kg/(m3·d) and 5.5 kg/(m3·d), respectively, the removal efficiency of COD was more than 80%, the SO2-4 reduction rate was more than 90%, the production rate of biogas was about 0.60 L/g COD, and the biogas production was about 120 L/d.
