Treatment of wastewater containing Cu2+ and Hg2+ with new heavy metal capturing agent NBMIPA
|
Abstract:
In this study, heavy metal capturing agent NBMIPA was synthesized with isophthaloyl chloride and cysteamine hydrochloride as raw materials. The treatment effects of the chelating agent NBMIPA on wastewater containing Cu2+ and Hg2+ were investigated. The result showed that the application properties of NBMIPA for capturing Cu2+ and Hg2+ were very well, the bigger the dosage, the higher the performance. NBMIPA had a wide pH range for applications. The residual dosage of Cu2+ was 0.38 mg/L by directly added NBMIPA that the molar ratio of chelating agent to Cu2+ was 4~5, without adjusting pH, stirring time was 12 minutes, and the removal rate of Cu2+ could reach 99.5%. When the molar ratio of chelating agent to Hg2+ was 4~5, the removal rate of Hg2+ could reach 99.83%, and the residual concentration of Hg2+ was 0.032 mg/L.
