Enhanced nitrobenzene degradation by homogeneous catalysis assisted ultrasound/iron-carbon microelectrolysis
|
Abstract:
The enhanced effects of homogeneous catalysts on nitrobenzene degradation within ultrasound/iron-carbon microelectrolysis system were investigated. The results showed that CuSO4 exhibited the best catalytic efficiency compared to NaCl,AlCl3,Na2SiO3.The removal efficiency of nitrobenzene reached 99.2% with an initial pH of 3.0,5.0 g/L iron/carbon mixed padding(1:1 mass ratio),and 800 mg/L of CuSO4.However,the COD of the solution only decreased 24.6% after the reaction. The infrared spectrum analysis indicated that aminobenzene was the major intermediate product during the degradation process.
