Affecting factors and kinetics of dye wastewater treatment by electro-catalytic oxidation process
|
Abstract:
Under the condition of the coating of titanium plate as anode, graphite plate as cathode and Fe2O3/γ-Al2O3 as heterogeneous catalyst,COD removal effect and its affecting factors in dye-wastewater of acid red by electro-heterogeneous catalytic oxidation system were investigated.Experimental conditions and the degradation mechanism of COD were discussed. The result shows that cell voltage,pH,airflow rate and electrode distance had a significant impact on COD removal. The best COD removal was 64.5% with cell voltage of 20 V,pH of 4,airflow rate of 0.24 m3/h and electrode distance of 3 cm.The degradation of COD approximation order kinetics equation: ln(C0/C)=0.0034t+0.719.It is capable of mineralizing organic contaminants into H2O,CO2 and other inorganics in the electro-heterogeneous catalytic oxidation system.
