Modification of manganese slag and preparation for SCR catalysts
|
Abstract:
The manganese oxide slag formed in the industrial production of potassium manganate was applied for the preparation of SCR catalyst. The slag was modified by introducing active carbon(AC),titania, and different precursor compounds of manganese. With the simulated flue gas,the catalytic activities were evaluated in a fixed flow tube reactor. The DeNOx of the catalyst made from the original slag and the slag modified by AC and titania was 40% and 78%,respectively.XPS measurement reveals different oxidation state of manganese. As the total amount of Mn increased to 10% by introducing MnSO4,the DeNOx decreased from 78% to 57%.XRD results indicated the existing of S2O72-species,which suggested one of the reasons for decrease of catalytic activity. The adding of Mn(CH3COO)2 promoted the catalytic performances by widening catalytic active temperature window when total amount of Mn was 10%,and the maximum DeNOx reached 86.7% with Mn content of 20% under the space velocity of 10 000 h-1.
