Preparation, characterization and photocatalytic activity of iodine-doped nano-titania thin films based on self-assembled mololayers
|
Abstract:
Large-size two-dimensional nano-titania and iodine-doped nano-titania thin films were prepared in low-temperature aqueous system by using molecular self-assembly method. Samples were characterized with XRD, TEM, fluorescence emission spectrometer and Raman testing techniques , Fluorescence emission spectrum indicated that I5+/TiO2 thin film presented a significant response to visible light. TEM had showed that this method could prepare rutile titania film, and the intensity of Raman spectrum decreased accompanying with blue shift of the peak. As the concentration of iodine ion decreased to 2 mmol/L the photocatalytic activity reached the maximum. And the degradation efficiency of methyl orange was up to 95%, which was 40% more than undoped titania thin film. The doped iodine could obviously improve the degradation efficiency
