Study on influencing factors of Cr6+ removal in water by metal iron
|
Abstract:
The influence of Fe/Cr6+ ratio and the effect of NO-3,Cl-,SO2-4 concentrations on Cr6+ removal are studied in this research. The results show that Cr6+ in the contaminated water can be removed by metal iron. The removal efficiency decreases and the metal iron activity subjects to devitalize under Fe/Cr6+ ratio lower than 2 000, while the removal efficiecncy and metal iron activity can be improved when Fe/Cr6+ ratio is higher than 8 000. Three kinds of anions (NO-3,Cl-,SO2-4) can accelerate the removal process of Cr6+. However, there is no evident discrepancy for the influence of three kinds anions on Cr6+ removal at initial reaction, while the promotion function of SO2-4 for Cr6+ removal is more effective than Cl- and NO-3 afterward. The sequence of promotion ability of metal iron to Cr6+ removal is: SO2-4> Cl-> NO-3.
