Study on degradation of nitrobenzene wastewater by electro-catalytic oxidation with DSA electrode
|
Abstract:
In order to improve the biodegradability of persistent organic wastewater and remove the key pollutants more efficiently in the wastewater. A new type of DSA electrode is used to decompose nitrobenzene wastewater which the electrode is composed of Sn/Sb oxide as mid-layer and Ru/Pd oxide as external-layer. The test of SEM and XRD shows that this electrode has better catalytic-activity,longer life and stronger bonding between bottom-layer,mid-layer and external-layer;the result of wastewater treatment shows that the reaction system is suitable for high concentrations of organic wastewater. Also, the system can provide a new salinity reuse method in the actual wastewater because the system needs electrolyte to enhance the mas transfer. Then, the system can reach a higher removal efficiency under the conditions of J(current density) =20 mA/cm~2,C' (Na_2SO_4 electrolyte concentration) =10 g/L,pH =5 ,L( distance between anode and cathode) =2 cm.
