Dynamics model of methyl tert-butyl ether transport in groundwater
|
Abstract:
For describing the transport of organic compounds in porous medium, the dynamics model of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) in groundwater was developed. Furthermore, the discussion about model validity and parameters sensitivities was also conducted in this paper. The simulative results indicate that the velocity of groundwater and the retardation coefficient are the key factors influencing the transport of MTBE in subsurface, whereas the dispersive coefficient has no obvious effect on it. The model and results will be reliable basis for the forecast and the remediation of groundwater contaminated by MTBE.
