Photocatalytic degradation of chloral by fixed photocatalyst TiO2 thin film
|
Abstract:
The efficiency of photocatalytic degradation of chloral in water by fixed photocatalyst TiO2 thin film loaded on glass was studied. The mechanism of photocatalytic degradation of chloral by fixed photocatalyst TiO2 thin film was discussed. The influence of solution pH value and initial chloral concentration on photocatalytic degradation of chloral by TiO2 thin film was investigated, the dynamics of photocatalytic degradation of chloral was also studied. The result showed that the efficiency of photocatalytic degradation of chloral in water by fixed photocatalyst TiO2 thin film was good. When initial chloral concentration was 2.25 mg/L, the degradation rate of chloral was up to 100% after three hours ultraviolet irradiation. The chloral degradation rate decreased with the increase of initial chloral concentration. The degradation efficiency was highest at pH 6.5 of solution. The reaction of photocatalytic degradation of chloral by fixed photocatalyst TiO2 thin film obeyed one stage reaction dynamics, the reaction rate constant also decreased with the increase of initial chloral concentration.
