Effects of process conditions on paired electrolysis for decoloration of reactive brilliant blue KN-R
|
Abstract:
Paired electrolysis for decoloration of Reactive Bule 19 on ACF anode and cathode was carried out in an undivided cell. The effects of initial concentration of dyestuff, supporting electrolyte (Na2SO4), pH and temperature were investigated. High initial concentration of dyestuff, supporting electrolyte, acidic and neutral conditions as well as moderate temperature are found to be favourable to enhanced performance of the cell. The decolorization efficiency is up to 95% at 251 mg/L of initial dyestuff under appropriate process conditions while the energy consumption is merely 1.22 kWh/kg dye.
