Study on phosphorus removal from phosphorus-containing wastewater by sedimentation-flocculation precipitation
|
Abstract:
In this paper phosphate removal of high-concentration phoshorus-containing wastewater by using sedimentation-flocculation precipitation was studied . The results showed that the concentration of phosphorus in the wastewater was greatly reduced from 158 mg/L to 0.5 mg/L by controlling pH, dosage of flocculant and sedimention time, which measured up to the national standard of discharge wastewater. The removal efficiency of phosphate reached to 99.5%, which was enhanced by 17.4% and 15.2% respectively, compared with the conventional flocculants such as FeCl3 and Al2(SO4)3. Moreover, the removal efficiency of COD and SS was 78.6% and 83.6% respectively, and the cost of this flocculant was cheaper than those of conventional flocculants, so it had obvious economic and environmental benefits.
