Research on the preparation of composite polysilicic acid flocculants and their performances
|
Abstract:
Composite polysilicic acid flocculants were prepared by introducing ferric and magnesium or calcium ions into polysilicic acid simultaneously. The optimum flocculating conditions, including the dosage and the water pH value for the removals of turbidity and phosphorus were investigated. The phosphorus contents of the floccules were measured with quinoline weight method. The results showed that the flocculants had good flocculating effect under the conditions of Fe/P molar ratio of 2.5 to 3.0 and the pH value range of 7.0 to 8.5, under which the removal efficiencies of phosphorus and turbidity were more than 99.0%, and polysilicic acid with magnesium and ferric ions (PSAMF) were suitable for phosphorus recovery.
