Aerial Image Quality Evaluation

Aerial photography is the main information source of remote sensing and military reconnaissance. The sufficiency and accuracy of acquired information can be directly affected by aerial image quality. With the image quality evaluation approaches being widely used in various image processing fields, the aerial image quality evaluation is paid more attention. The main factors affecting image quality are proposed and the common image quality evaluation approaches are described. Finally, the human visual system (HVS) is presented and the trend of HVS's application is indicated.
