Effect of structure differences in surfactant on retention of phenol during micellar-enhanced ultrafiltration

Abstract:
The effects of hydrophilic head group and the length of hydrocarbon chain of different cationic surfactants on the retention of phenol were studied in micellar-enhanced ultrafiltration through orthegonal experiment.The results showed that the retention of phenol increased in the order as follows: hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) < octadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(OTAB)< cetylpyridinium chloride(CPC).In the following single factor experiment,the effects of surfactant concentration and electrolyte...
