Increasing biodesulfurization activity of 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene of <>iRhodococcus erythropolis USTB-03 using nicotinamide and riboflavin
|
Abstract:
Effects of nicotinamide and riboflavin on the sulfur specific activity ( SA) of 4,6-dimethyl-dibenzothiophene (4, 6-DMDBT) biodesulfurization by Rhodococcus erythropolis USTB-03 were investigated. When R. erythropolis USTB-03 was grown on medium containing nicotinamide of 10 mmol/L, SA was raised 57.5% from 302.4 to 476.4 mmol 4,6-DMDBT/( kg-dry cells · h). When R. erythropolis USTB-03 was grown on medium containing riboflavin of 25 /tmol/L, SA increased to 465. 8 mmol 4,6-DMDBT/( kg-dry cells · h) , which was 54% higher than that of control. Both nicotinamide and riboflavin were found to enhance expression of SA, which was not previously reported. It is suggested that the biological synthesis of FMNH_2, an essential coen-zyme for the activities of biodesulfurization enzyme, might be enhanced by nicotinamide and riboflavin, which was responsible for the increased SA of R. erythropolis USTB-03.
