Determination of Chemical Composition in HVGO by Near-Infrared Spectroscopy
|
Abstract:
A new analytical method based on FT-NIR Spectroscopy in the 11000cm-1-6000cm-1 region was used to determine the chemical composition in HVGO products from different factories of YangZi. The NIR spectra of HVGO of different origin and processing schemes were recorded. A partial least squares (PLS) technique was used to construct the mathematical model and the latter could correlate the NIR spectral features with the chemical composition analyzed by HPGS/MS-FID. Twenty unknown samples were tested by the NIR method and the conventional method. The correlation coefficients of the results tested by two methods were 0.9857, 0.9854, 0.9968 and 0.9984 respectively for correctitude structure content, strange structure content, cycloparaffin content of saturates content and aromatics content. The NIR method has the advantages of better repeatability, shorter time of testing and simpler operation and does not consume solvent. It can be used as an alternative for determining the chemical composition of HVGO.
