Low Power Design of Column Readout Stage for Large Format IR ROIC
|
Abstract:
A low power consumption design for the column readout architecture of a large snapshot infrared(IR)readout integrated circuit(ROIC)is proposed in this paper. For the readout rate of 4MHz, by using the output bus pre-settling and the stand-by low power donsumption, the power consumption of this design is reduced from 8.16mW to 0.8mW which means it can save about 90% power as compared with the column readout architecture with both master and slave amplification. In the readout stage with a pre-settled output, there are four output buses which are used to drive the output buffer to readout in turn. When the data from one of the output buses are read out,the data in three other output buses are in preparation. When the column selection signal arrives, there are no SR process but only small signal settling process in the output buses. Therefore, for the same establishing time, the bandwidth and power consumption can be reduced by using this design.
