Recovery and chemical utilization of carbon dioxidefrom fossil-fuel burning industrial sourcesKeywords: carbon dioxide, fossil fuel, global climate change, greenhouse gas Abstract: Global climate change (GCC) and greenhouse (GH) gas - CO_2 , which comes from fossil fuelcombustion, have been paid much attention. This review discusses the concerns in two parts. The firstpart describes in some detail the scientific and technical aspects of GCC and the relationships of CO_2 andfossil fuel. It includes sections on the GH effect , on the CO_2 emission and GCC , on the separation andrecovery . and on the CO_2 disposal and utilization. The second part simply notes the reactions on CO_2 ac-tivation and chemical utilization. It includes sections on the CO_2 industrial uses , on the coordination andactivation of CO_2 for HCOOH and special chemical synthesis, on the heterogeneous hydrogenation ofCO_2 to methanol, methane and gasoline, on the polymer synthesis, on the CO_20 CH_4 reforming, andon the other methods in developing.
