Fingerprints analysis of the lubricating oils produced in China
|
Abstract:
Fingerprint compounds (alkanes, pristine, phytane, sterids, terpanes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) in seven lubricating oils produced in China were quantitatively analyzed using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Multivariate statistical analysis was done based on fingerprints information. The result showed that the unresolved complex mixture (UCM) had obvious predominance in gas chromatogram of lubricating oils. The sterids and terpanes were rich in lubricating oils, but the paraffinic hydrocarbons (alkanes, pristine, phytane) and PAHs (PAHs homologues, alkylated PAHs homologues, dibenzothiophene series) were of low contents in lubricating oils; The results of principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis based on the fingerprints information were same and both could be used for lubricating oils identification.
