The effect of sediment resuspension on benthic boundary layer in macro-tidal environments

In-situ tidal cycle measurements during a spring tide were undertaken at two stations near Jinshan Channel in Hangzhou Bay.The data from the observations were analyzed,to propose a new method of estimating the bed shear stress on the basis of resuspension fluxes.The analytical results indicate that,in intense tidal currents with high suspended sediment concentrations,the effect of sediment resusupension on the benthic boundary layer is significant,with or without density stratification.High suspended sedime...
