Mode of metabolic pyrene uptake by a Bacillus sp. and a Flavobacterium sp.

Abstract:
The pyrene biodegradation by Bacillus sp.CN2 and Flavobacterium sp.CN4 was investigated by carefully designed solvent extraction experiments,thin layer chromatography(TLC)and UV-spectrophotometry The pH value of the culture media increased from 6.00 to neutral with continuous fluctuations.Cultured in peptone beef medium,the cell surface of CN2 was with strong hydrophilic and that of CN4 was with strong hydrophobic.The cell surface hydrophobicity(CSH)of CN2 increased while the CSH of CN4 decreased during the...
