Process parameter adjustment of a newly built AAO wastewater treatment plant based on ASM2D simulation
|
Abstract:
An inverse AAO process in a newly built wastewater treatment plant was modeled based on ASM2D. The model was calibrated by using the influent and effluent data in the design specifications of the plant, and the component concentrations of ASM2D were chosen from the literature. The simulation focused on the influence of flow rate, external recycle rate, internal recycle rate, ratio of flows into different reaction tanks, total COD (TCOD), ammonia nitrogen (SNH3), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), and total suspended particles (TSS). The qualitative and quantitative results may be used as a reference for process parameter adjustment in the newly built plant. A demand for thousands of municipal wastewater treatment plants of different sizes has appeared in China, and strengthening the application of modeling and simulation is very helpful for reducing time and cost in process parameter adjustment.
