Abstract:

To evaluate various PCB molten salt gasification schemes, a predictive model for molten salt gasification of printed circuit boards (PCB) is proposed based on reaction kinetics. The calculated results show that in the gasification reaction system in molten salt the initial oxidation reaction produces CO, H2 and char, which then generates a large quantity of CO2 and H2O. Then the CO2 and H2O are reduced by the remaining char, generating CO and H2 until the char is consumed, and then the reaction system is finally balanced with the balance of the water gas shift reaction.
