Adsorption capacity of Friedel''s salt for VO43- and its mechanisms
|
Abstract:
In order to understand the application potential of Friedel's salt,Ca4Al2(OH)12Cl2(H2O)4,as an adsorbent for VO43- removal, the adsorption behavior of Friedel's salt for VO43- from aqueous solution was examined, through investigating the adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherms. Both the experimental and modeled data indicated that Friedel's salt could adsorb a large amount of VO43- with a high adsorption rate. The adsorption isotherm data fit the Langmuir equation well (R2>0.93) and the maximum adsorption amount of VO43- was 72.40 mg·g-1. The mechanisms of Friedel's salt adsorption of VO43- were interlayer ion-exchange and surface adsorption.
