Degradation of phenol in wastewater initiated by pulse discharge

Abstract:
A pulse discharge in water creates a plasma channel which causes complicated chemical reactions,and produces various radicals.Hydroxyl radical was detected in our system.An ultraviolet spectrophotometer,total organic carbon analyzer,gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer,liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer and other instruments were employed for detection of reaction products in the treatment of phenol wastewater.The intermediate products are polyphenols,ketones,aldehydes,esters etc.and the final products a...
