Comparative study on toxicity of various camptothecin formulations on Chlorella vulgaris
|
Abstract:
In order to determine the toxicity of three camptothecin formulations on Chlorella vulgaris, 10- day tests were employed and data were determined every day. The results showed that 0.2% camptothecin EC had the highest toxicity to C. vulgaris in the 10d with EC50 values between 0.0368 mg·L-1 and 0.2547 mg·L-1, with the lowest value on the 3rd day. The toxicity of 0.5% camptothecin Na+ SL was low, with their EC50 value between 0.6659 mg·L-1 and 2.3104 mg·L-1. The toxicity of 0.5% camptothecin K+ SL increased gradually from the 2nd to the 8th days, with the lowest EC50 value of 0.4684 mg·L-1 on the 6th day. EC50 increased rapidly from 0.8024 mg·L-1 to 5.8423 mg·L-1on the 9th day. The results also showed that 0.5% camptothecin K+ and Na+ SL had the lowest toxicity, while the 0.2% camptothecin EC had the highest toxicity.
