Study of river water treatment using multi-soil-layering system based on BDPs
|
Abstract:
To investigate the polluted river water flowing into the Dianchi Lake, we carried out a study aiming at strengthening nitrogen and phosphorus removal through adding PBS particles, a kind of water-insoluble biodegradable polymers pellets (BDPs) to anoxic phase, by using a two-stage multi-soil-layering (MSL) system with aeration phase and anoxic phase. The results indicated that the addition of PBS carbon resource can effectively improve the poor removal efficiency of nitrogen in traditional MSL system for the lack of carbon resource. Under the conditions of serious and light pollutions, the average removal rate of TN were 78% and 85%, and the reduction loads were 9.09 g·m-2·d-1 and 24.55 g·m-2·d-1, respectively. The average removal rate of TP were 92% and 98%, and the reduction loads were 0.76 g·m-2·d-1 and 2.02 g·m-2·d-1, respectively. In addition, the average removal rate of COD were up 75%.
