INHIBITORY EFFECTS OF GTP ON RED BLOOD CELL MEMBRANE DAMAGES INDUCED BY Cr6+
|
Abstract:
The effects of inorganic carcinogen potassium bichromate (Cr6+) on protein SH group and phospholipids of the membranes of human red blood cells as well as the inhibitory effects of GTP were investigated with TEA test and ESR spin labeling technique. The results suggested that while Cr6+ induces lipid peroxidation of red blood cell membranes, and further changes the conformation of protein SH groups and membrane fluidity, GTP exerts markedly inhibitory effects on the above-mentioned changes.
