Effect of SO2 on selective catalytic reduction of NO over Mn-Cu-Ce/TiO2 at low temperature
|
Abstract:
The effect of SO2 on the selective catalytic reduction(SCR) of NOwith NH3 over a Mn-Cu-Ce/TiO2 catalyst and its mechanism were investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction and transient response experiments.SO2 is strongly absorbed on Mn-Cu-Ce/TiO2 at the CuO active sites. The absorbed SO2 will react with CuO to form CuSO4,which will inhibit SCRat low temperature.Transient response experiments suggested that SCR over Mn-Cu-Ce/TiO2 follows the Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism. The effect of SO2 on Mn-Cu-Ce/TiO2 could be alleviated by sulphurating the catalyst or pre-absorbing NO on the catalyst.
