Variation of copper and lead fractions in rhizosphere soil
|
Abstract:
Fractionation of copper and lead in wheat rhizosphere were investigated using root-box technique. The soil samples from both rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere were extracted using a sequential extraction procedure. It was demonstrated that the availability of copper in the wheat rhizospere soil increased significantly especially within 2 mm at the top layer, indicated by increase in exchangeable fraction and decrease in carbonate fraction. No such change was observed for lead at the exact same condition.
