EFFECTS OF STRONG VOLCANIC ERUPTION ON ULTRAVIOLET IRRADIANCIES ON GROUND

Abstract:
Through radiation transfer calculations,the effects of variations in volcanic aerosols and ozone on direct,diffuse and total ultraviolet spectral irradiancies and UVB irradiancies arriving at the surface have been investigated.Simulation results and observed UVB irradiancies changes in the north-west suburb of Beijing before and after eruptions of Mt. Pinotobo have been compared.Some causes related to the difference batween them have been discussed.
